Hunsinger Enterprises is a multi-generational family farm. Kevin is a skip generation farmer whose Dad grew up on a farm in Woodford County and Kevin wanted to return to the family tradition. He began farming in Champaign county in 2007, soon expanding to ground in Piatt county. Children Paul and Andrea now work on-farm as well, bringing essential talent in precision equipment technology and business management.
We currently grow corn and soybeans. The investment in grain storage has opened up opportunities for growing value added food grade grains.
We employ high management practices in regards to fertility and weed control.
With a small window of time for planting, spring is an increasingly high-speed, high-tech season.
Precision chemical application allows for precise application of complex chemistry and fertility recipes. We are able to map every acre to analyze the impact of these applications on the crop.
Harvest is where the action is and we are very grateful for our seasonal help and farm partners during the busiest time of the year! Precision technology again collects data which will allow us to evaluate what we did well and how we can improve for the following season. Although fall is fast paced and can be stressful we can't help but pause and be thankful for the blessings and beauty of living and working in rural America!
